‘Game of Thrones’ could learn something from this ice-cold political ad

There are burns, and then there are burns.

I am still shewk from this political ad released by Arizona Democratic Congressional candidate David Brill against his incumbent Republican opponent, Paul Gosar.

Watch the video until the very end.

Gosar is known for his extreme right-wing views, including the infamous birther conspiracy. The Congressman also believes that the white supremacist rally held at Charlottesville last year was a creation of the left.

Six of Gosar’s 10 siblings apparently couldn’t take it anymore, and they came together to produce this masterful ad. Gosar — the one running for re-election, that is — responded on Twitter. Read more…

Do You Answer the Phone?

I’m not talking about when your mom calls. If your mom calls, you should answer the phone, and actually, you should just probably call your mom more often so she doesn’t have to call you. (HI MOM!) What I want to know is what you do when a number you don’t know calls. Do you answer the phone?

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? The last 20 Heisman Trophy winners

Every year the Heisman Trophy is awarded to the best player in college football.

Despite the greatness of these players in college, winning the Heisman is not a guarantee of future success. While many past winners thrive in the NFL, there are also those that are out of the league just a few years after being on top of their sport.

Below we take a look at every Heisman winner dating back to 1998, checking in to see how their careers have gone and what they are up to now.

Ricky Williams ran away with the Heisman in 1998, rushing for 2,327 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Texas Longhorns.

Williams went on to have a successful if disjointed NFL career. After leading the league in rushing in 2002 with the Dolphins, Williams tested positive for marijuana several times and announced his retirement in 2004. He did return to Miami just two years later. Recently, he founded a brand of cannabis products, “Real Wellness,” and serves as a commentator on The Longhorn Network.

Ron Dayne was awarded the 1999 Heisman, finishing his career as the all-time leading rusher in NCAA Division I FBS history with 7,125 yards for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Devil May Cry 5 has microtransactions

Devil May Cry 5 will allow players to spend real money to upgrade their characters.

The news came via a build of the game being shown at Tokyo Game Show, in which orbs could be bought at Divinity Statues in-game to hurry up progression – a system that had previously appeared in Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, though given the backlash that similar systems have faced it’s still a surprise to see it return.

Gamespot spoke to Devil May Cry 5 director Hideaki Itsuno about the inclusion of microtransactions in the game. “With giving people the ability to purchase Red Orbs, it’s something we want to give people as an option,” he said. “If they want to save time and just want to get all the stuff at once, those people can do that. But on the other hand I don’t feel you have to get all the moves. You should be able to play it the way you want to play it.”

Watch this dad expertly help his kid pretend to be Spider-Man

This is One Good Thing, a weekly column where we tell you about one of the few nice things that happened this week.

Nothing like a little wholesome parent-child bonding.

In this extremely cute video, a little kid dressed like Spider-Man acts out every child’s superhero daydream with some much-appreciated help from dad.
